As based on observations made from reading Osvaldo Sunkel and Immanuel Wallerstein, You cannot have a competing and closed economic system in a false struggle for hegemony and influence on the notion of colors and flags of allegiance ( competing hegemony was the issue with Communism vs. Capitalism) when there is an existing world system that we have chosen to describe as capitalist or as capitalism. No; competition  could only take place on the micro-level as far as the issue of managing the human population with social policies that either respect the attritious effect of automation technology or that ignore it with the evidence being the desperation economics of the departed. Capitalism  has already made efficiency and mass consumption its key mantras.  Lenin acknowledged this in his 1899 book on Capitalism in calling for industrial automation and basic income since we only do what we see the Father doing. He saves life and feeds the 5000. Capitalism is just raw economics and  it does abhor inefficiencies.  It may also demand public-private partnerships when and where necessary since the state remains the most powerful actor to ensure safe infrastructure to prevent inefficient and unsafe transportation of goods and prevents  business interference by competitive-minded but nationally disloyal citizens who engage in domestic terrorism in affecting the lives of hard working citizens regardless of education.  This abhorhence  of inefficiency prevents any notion of systemic dualities as in a communist system operating in the world as a trading block separate and apart from the all encompassing, intrinsic  global capitalist system if the basis of that second system is only affinity to flag colors and a good socio economic theory  but with more expensive goods to the exclusion of American products with the acceptance of predominantly cheaper Chinese or Soviet products  that might be more expensive in the trading block since you have no other supplier nations by virtue of  your collateral agreements. Capitalism wants choice in suppliers and supplier nations. We may not have that now since we have relied on Asia as as supplier nation or region for  much that we consume as finished goods  except for foods yet robots can be plugged in any where as the "cheaper Asian labor" we imagine (but it is not Asian; just robotic) to make clothing or cameras.   But, the waste we see of human life and education dollars in the U.S.   and in  much of the Anglo world is not seen any where else   in the absence of basic income in those Anglo regions. This basic income  is also known as a national dividend paid to citizens bi-weekly as based on $50000.00 usd for example.  Some states already have this type of  program. But, it is needed nationally and regionally  in North America  and not just in a patchy application of this winning socio-economic policy followed in Mexico,  China, Japan, Europe and Russia today just as Lenin implimented this policy back in 1917). The waste or  loss in  economic attrition of a consumer who graduates from a publicly funded high school or who  has no schooling in North America who is under funded in the automation economy is covered by an influx of  Immigrants that come from Basic Income  territories. This waste of a consumer   is also abhored by  capitalism; the global capitalist system.    The waste in inefficient fuels used for railway systems is abhored by Capitalism. Capitalism Abhors inefficiency. It is also described as a vacuum. in that it is a closed system and  a power unto itself in terms of immutable relationships and dynamics in human behavior that cannot tolerate intrusions or pockets of competing dynamics purporting to work within the closed system as it creates a challenging realm that purports a challenge or an emptiness or  absence of influence from the governing  dynamic. As such, Jesus is every where.    Power abhors vacuums;  that Is the abhorence of Spaces where there is emptiness or absence. An economy with too little money in too many Anglo lives is abhored by Capitalism and we see global capitalism moves those who are not funded by their government in Boston or Woeronto and replaces those people with foreigners who are funded.   Capitalism is a closed system of human interaction based on set rules of human behavior and motivational demands that are quite powerful in themselves in their abhorhence of waste and inefficiency. The system demands efficiency and the Communist system on a micro level was more efficient instead of a company building one vehicle with 6 brand names or or truck with two brand names for example. Capitalism does not necessarily require choice but choice is a good market motivater. The waste in the false notion of two systems was the desire to buy and sell to th USSR and for the USSR  to sell to America but it took a lot of work with the energy spent on systemic separateness. On a macro level the greater capitalist system abhored this separateness that caused total system inefficiency. Yet, on the micro level The communist version of Capitalism was more efficient and less wasteful with socio-economic policies that address the. Technological attrition caused by automation. The same public-private partnerships that ensure safe roads in Capitalist activity and the expenditures by the state to ensure safe roads also ensure state expenditures to ensure safe people with expenditures on basic income. The real truth is that basic income and fewer labels on supermarket shelves in the socialist system still proved to be a better system before and After Jimmy Carter in the truth of automation. Now with Lays , Coca Cola and Budweiser made in Russia and the Ukraine and in any part of Europe, Socialist democracies are superior economically like China's authoritative and communist, non-democratic capitalism with automation. You have mass consumption with basic income of all the American labels  made in Asia and all the Asian goods and anything you want made in Asia or Europe with robotic automation.     Karl Marx was neither capitalist nor communist per se but a futurist  as based on the evidence of automation. Interdependence is the ultimate lesson since who is obligated to buy $ 12,000.00 Ladas when you can buy $10,000.00 Hyundais on bulk orders over 10 units?  He remains ideological but on the basis of his loyalties to humanity; not language or any other badge of association.
